Despite that some may think that today is the national have a party and grill day, this holiday actually serves a purpose.
Today we take a moment to give thanks to all the men and women in our armed forces that have given their time, or their lives to protect our freedom! To thank those who have served, and those who continue to serve. They have given up their daily lives, their time with friends and family, and many other sacrifices to protect us.
If you see a solider, or a vet, while you are out and about today, buy their lunch or cup of coffee. Or you could simply shake their hand and say thanks.
